In an inspiring development for motorsports, Dubai-based Indian karting phenomenon Atiqa Mir has shattered records by becoming the youngest driver from the Middle East to earn a coveted spot in a professional racing development program. The 10-year-old speedster has officially joined the AKCEL GP Academy, marking a historic moment for diversity in motorsport and showcasing the UAE's growing reputation as a breeding ground for world-class racing talent.
The pint-sized powerhouse has already left her mark on international karting circuits with her aggressive yet precise driving style, racking up podium finishes across multiple continents. Her impressive resume includes competitions in elite series like the Rotax Euro Trophy, WSK Super Master Series, and Champions of the Future Academy - achievements that would be remarkable for drivers twice her age.
This groundbreaking partnership coincides with the debut of AKCEL GP Academy, the flagship training initiative of UAE's premier motorsport team that competes in FIA F4, Formula Regional Middle East Championship, and FIA F3 championships. The academy represents a major step forward in developing homegrown racing talent capable of competing on global stages.
"When I'm behind the wheel, I feel unstoppable - like I can do anything," beams Atiqa as she prepares to begin intensive training at Abu Dhabi's state-of-the-art facilities. "Being selected for AKCEL GP Academy proves that with enough passion and determination, girls from our region can achieve their wildest dreams in motorsports."
The young phenom will follow a meticulously crafted development program designed to transform promising junior racers into professional competitors. From advanced vehicle dynamics to media training and physical conditioning, every aspect of her preparation will mirror what's required at Formula One feeder series levels.
"My ultimate goal is seeing that checkered flag in Formula One," declares Atiqa with conviction belying her age. "I know it won't be easy - there will be crashes and setbacks - but this academy gives me all tools needed to turn my dream into reality."
